I feel ya... I'm working as security on this hospital for 6 years and some neurosurgeon just started working here and he already have a higher salary!

Ask for a meeting with your boss to review your responsibilities and salary. Or leave. Look for a new job. This isn’t difficult. Don’t blame the new person.

Hannah Cherié Harp

Well, you used the meme wrong, so it might be for a reason.

Romel Cinco

Perhaps the newcomer better negotiated their starting salary. Perhaps you're a bitch too.

Toni M Johnston

No info given by op. Maybe the newcomer is a fucking engineers or something while op can only drink semens.

Divina Klaassen

This is very common, everywhere. Give notice and leave. You will find a better job.

best way to get an adequate pay raise is to go to another company doing the same job...I got a $3/hr raise with one year exp doing that, I will probably do it again in another year

Sally Tanoshii

Maybe you’re crap. Just a thought.

Deeya Bagwan

Maybe he or she has a better education

I worked at a place once, they lied off the bat, offered me £12\hour on the phone then on the interview they said for the first 3 months I'll be on a lower salary (£9/hour) until they can confirm i know what i said i do. One month in was running the print machine on my own. For the next year and a half they kept delaying it, "wait until next month, wait until the end of the year, wait until the end of the busy season" etc. I legit thought i was being ripped off, (which i actually was) but when i decided to leave coworkers became open about their salaries, i was shocked that there were people there for 10+ years still on minimum wage (£8). Then I shut up and left the place within a month

Changing job is the best thing you can do for a salary boost

People that switch jobs earn 50% more. You need to get another offer I you want a raise. It has nothing to do with fairness. Play the game. your employer expects you to. Stop being a pussy crybaby.

Preethii Kuumaar Patnaaik

You get what you ask for. The employer must be thinking that you are happy with what you get, so why overspend on someone that is already satisfied. Also, the opportunities are always found outside of comfort zone. They are unlikely to come your way if you are too comfortable with your current state of employment and life. Trust me on this.

I'm 24. I work 6/7 days a week, from 8am-5pm or sometimes from 8am-10pm depending on whats going on. I earn less than $800 a month and probably live in one of the most expensive towns in the whole country because thats where i'm posted. Another 24 year old that doesn't even have a Marketing degree or experience gets hired and earns $1800 and always talks and shows me his new stuff he bought or is going to buy. Flys around the country, expenses paid for. Works from 9/10am-4/5pm. Chills on weekends. Life just isn't fair.

He negociated better than you.

Newcomers are usually get bigger pay than old employees. That's why in my contract I can't tell or ask other employees of their salary, it is illigal. Because we all have individual wages and responsibilities.

Ella Belle

How much experience in previous jobs does the newcomer have? How proficient is he? Does he put effort in his job, or does he just sit on a chair and look at the clock until it's leave time? Does he take courses and certifications in order to improve, even without his boss telling him to do so? How good was he at negotiating his salary? Two people don't have to earn the same salary just because they do the same job. If skills and efficiency didn't pay off, there would be no reason for us to keep improving, we would just stagnate.

Jeremy Waugh

There’s no set salary for a position. Employers will pay you the lowest amount they possibly can that will keep you working there. The fact that you’re still there is proof of that.
